My mission is to give a sense of place where there has historically not been a sense of place. To provide opportunity in an industry that will now highlight diverse voices such as Puerto Rican, Black, Asian, Native or Indigenous, Middle Eastern, those of other Hispanic or Latinx descent, and anyone else I’m forgetting. If you have a story and I can be the platform, let me know.
When I was in high school someone told me that I was an interesting guy. That was it. Just that I was an interesting guy. I contemplated what if I was that guy who was the most interesting person that "you" know. That was my first goal and then the goal was to become the most interesting man in the world. This is the biggest goal that I have and I feel that the "wilderness" of becoming the most interesting man in the world is worth documenting. I have a few steps that will allow me to become the most interesting man in the world. It was all inspired by Robert Downing Jr, in an article on Airows.
How did the name come about?
Wilderness Black was a play on the nickname of Wilderness Jack. I heard someone use it as a snarky comment to one of my friends when we were younger and I thought "Jack" doesn't represent me. But, let's go with Wilderness Black. REPRESENTATION MATTERS!
